Don’t complain later if you don’t vote – Pastor Adeboye tells Nigerians

Any eligible Nigerian that does not vote during the 2019 general election has no right to complain later, the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said.

The respected cleric made this known during the church’s February edition of its monthly Holy Ghost Service held at the Redemption Camp on Friday.

Adeboye also called on Nigerians to call on God for mercy during the course of the 2019 election, saying that only God’s mercy could see the country through the election period.

He said, “Please keep on praying for mercy for Nigeria. We need mercy before, during and after the election. We need mercy. Mercy is the medicine that can change your mess to a message.”

He affirmed that voting is a civic responsibility that must be carried out by every eligible Nigerian.

“Make sure you vote. It is your civic responsibility. If you do not vote, you do not have the right to complain after the elections,” he said.

Adeboye also urged every voter to ensure that “When you finish voting, if the security situation permits, make sure you wait and let the INEC officials do the counting. Then record whatever they said the result is. Also, while praying for God’s mercy on our nation, Nigeria include yourself, family and the Church.”
