The Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong has told Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state to jettison his plans of decamping to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Lalong said this in response to Fayose’s announcement that he might not run for the 2018 Ekiti governorship election under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Plateau state Governor also told his Ekiti counterpart to remain in the PDP till after the 2018 election in Ekiti.

He said this at the North Central Zonal Congress of the APC for the election of persons to fill vacant national positions to be filled by the zone in Abuja, just as he said that the party is poised to winning the forthcoming Rivers State rerun elections and elections in Anambra State.

Lalong said “The one I am waiting for is Ekiti. I understand that after Ondo, the man has been saying he wants to come to APC, we are saying he should remain in the PDP till after the election.

“We just came back from Ondo and we were again recruited yesterday to go to Rivers State again and conduct another election. Our own is to ask for your usual and continued support.

“Before now, some people were looking down on the APC, but now people with ambitions for 2019 are withdrawing from the PDP and coming to the APC.

“We are going to Rivers and we will win the elections there, after there, we are moving to Anambra and that one is a done deal.”

Governor Lalong was the Chairman of the APC campaign committee set up by the party leadership to oversee the Ondo Governor-elect, Rotimi Akeredolu’s campaign.
