A female Nigerian student studying in the UK celebrated two major achievements in a day as she graduated among the top students in her class and also got married the same day.
Anu Yusuf, the 26-year-old bride on Wednesday 27 July, 2016 achieved both feat as she had earlier in the day tied the knot with her heart rob at the Birmingham Register Office.
Previously dressed in an all white gown for the wedding ceremony, hours later, Anu was robbed along with other Law graduating students at the Symphony Hall where she received her LLB honours.
Anu who got married to her 27-year-old heart rob, Joseph Kolawole Ola said: “My husband often joked that he would whisk me away after my graduation to marry me because he can no longer wait. So, we decided to marry on my actual graduation day!
“Romance aside, it certainly worked well logistically too, as it meant that our relatives only had to travel once for both occasions. We both have family all over the UK and we were conscious of taking up too much of their time and for all the added expense in making the same journey twice.”
