Still grateful to God for his recovery from COVID-19, former presidential adviser, Doyin Okupe has sought forgiveness from those he has offended.

Recall that Okupe and his wife tested positive for the deadly virus on April 23.

However, he was certified free from the disease earlier this week, about two weeks after contracting it.

According to him, the mercies of God and prayers of friends and well-wishers saved him from dying in the course of his treatment.

Okupe noted that his recovery underscored the importance of maintaining a clear conscience, hence his decision to seek forgiveness from those he has offended as well as forgive his traducers.

Waxing prayerful, the ex-presidential aide wrote on Facebook, “On behalf of my entire family and my humble self, I want to thank all family, relations, friends, associates and Facebook friends and well-wishers for your outpouring of love and affection towards my wife, Aduralere and myself and my larger family, after we were discharged from the isolation centre for COVID-19.

“I want to reiterate the fact that ONLY God Almighty saved and healed us. We return all the Glory to Him.

“I want my friends to believe me when I say that, yes the Devil may afflict us, yet he cannot affect our prayers and supplications to God. He is totally helpless where prayers to God are concerned. PRAYERS are (the) most potent weapon against all challenges and adversities in our lives and there is absolutely NOTHING that God cannot do.
I thank you all and sincerely from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful.”

Okupe added, “For me, I ask for forgiveness from all whom I have offended and wronged either by careless words, uncanny disposition, bad intentions, abuse or outright wickedness and any other forms of human negativism or failure.

“I regret any and all of these acts and I seek your forgiveness. I also forgive anybody who has also wronged me in any way, either family, friends, relations, or acquaintances.
May the Almighty forgive us all.

“To me, one life is over and gone. I start a brand new life that I owe to the Mercy of God.

“I have no more battles to fight, no political ambitions to pursue personally. From now on I live for the service of God and my Country.”
