Sir Victor Umeh, former chairman of APGA political party and candidate for the postponed Anambra Central Senatorial District rerun election has been arrested by the operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS.

It was gathered that Umeh was arrested at his Enugu residence on Thursday afternoon.

Confirming the news to journalists, Umeh’s media aide, Mr. Stan Okeke said the arrest was in pursuance to a petition by Senator Uche Ekwunife, former Governor Peter Obi and Uzu Awka.

His media aide continued that Umeh is being implicated as sponsor in the recent pro-Biafran activities of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB and the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Mr Okeke however dispelled rumours that his boss was handcuffed while being flown to Abuja, he said; “They travelled by road and as I speak with you (8.25PM), they are still on their way to Abuja”.
