The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Kassim Afegbua, the spokesman for former military leader, Ibrahim Babangida, for questioning over the statement he put out on Sunday on behalf of the ex-president.

The invitation is coming hours after Afegbua honoured an invitation by the police in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to TheCable, the former Edo State Commissioner for Information confirmed receiving an invitation from the DSS through text message on Wednesday evening.

Afegbua had instituted a N1 billion fundamental rights enforcement suit against the police; police IG, Ibrahim Idris; and police PRO, Jimoh Moshood, for declaring him wanted on Monday over a case of “injurious falsehood” without extending a formal invitation to him.

Joined as respondents in the suit were Channels Television and Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).

However, he said the police apologised to him after he visited the Force Headquarters in company of members of his family and his counsel, Kayode Ajulo on Wednesday.
