Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi is well on the road to recovery from his injury.

The Tianjin Teda of China captain suffered a strain during a game against Chongqing Lifan and was not part of the Super Eagles 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifiers with South Africa  a fortnight ago.

He said he is on his way to full recovery after he joined his team in a ball work.

”Few more weeks and I’m back on the pitch with my boys #TianjinTeda #SuperEagles #recovery,” he wrote on Instagram.

Mikel moved to the team during the January transfer window after spending about 10 years with English team, Chelsea.

He left the club following his lack of game time when Italian coach, Antonio Conte, took over at the Stamford Bridge.

It would be cheering news for Nigerian coach, Gernot Rohr as his team prepares to take on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier in August.
