Ebonyi guber candidate’s convoy attacked, driver shot

Unknown gunmen on Thursday attacked the convoy of the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Ebonyi State, Prof. Benard Odo.

Odo was said to be returning from a campaign rally when his convoy ran into an ambush at the Rest House area along the Enugu/Abakaliki expressway.

It was learnt that the gunmen opened fire and hit the driver of a Sienna vehicle conveying the APGA candidate.

Odo’s media aide, Charles Otu, confirmed the incident.

In December, some APGA supporters were reportedly attacked in Ugwulangwu, Ohaozara LGA of the state by thugs suspected to be sponsored by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
