Sex workers have requested the legalization of their trade as part of their demands from the government.
Speaking in an interview on Shaft FM, Mama Sweet, the representative of the Adansi-Obuasi sex workers in Ghana implored the Government to make their trade legal to allow commercial sex workers operate at all hours of the day and night.
According to the Adansi-Obuasi commercial sex workers representative, the trade is also faced with the impact of the economic conditions in the country
Mama Sweet said: “We want government to legalise prostitution by giving us licenses to operate, so that we can work morning, afternoon and evening. Some of us were introduced into prostitution by our friends due to lack of financial support from family members.”
