Edo 2020: APC Candidate Steps Down, Endorses Ize-Iyamu

One of the governorship candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has stepped down and endorsed Ize-Iyamu as the governorship candidate of the APC in the forthcoming election in the state.

Hon. Osaro Obazee who stepped down for Ize-Iyamu was one of the aspirants cleared by the screening committee of the Party when Governor Obaseki was disqualified.

In response, Pastor Ize-Iyamu thanked Obazee for stepping down for him and declaring his support.

Ize-Iyamu, who is a former secretary to the State Government is predicted to be Oshiomhole’s anointed candidate and flag bearer of the party in the forthcoming governorship election after the latter had a fallout with incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Speaking through a statement signed by the Director of Communication and Media for his campaign, Ize-Iyamu described Obazee’s support as a boost towards his aspiration to becoming governor of Edo State.

“Hon. Osaro Obazee is a fine politician whose entrance into the race no doubt injected more life and excitement. He campaigned from his heart and took his message to members and followers of our party across the state. I am grateful to him for his endorsement and very confident that it will provide an important boost to our bid as we approach the primary election of our great party,” the statement said.
