Edo 2020: Davido Turns Prayer Warrior Over Saturday’s Guber Poll

Award-winning music artiste, David Adeleke aka Davido has offered prayers for a violence-free gubernatorial election in Edo State.

The Fem crooner took to Twitter to offer prayers on Tuesday.

The gubernatorial election is scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 19.

However, analysts have predicted that the election could be marred by violence.

The Herald reported Monday that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, appealed to the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, to prevail on the political gladiators to sheath their swords.

Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Davido wrote, “I pray that this weeks Edo elections are safe …

“God be with the great people of Edo.

“And God blessings and good luck to all the candidates involved.”

Although the musician has not disclosed his preference for any candidate, he supported his uncle and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2018 Osun gubernatorial election, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

He also supported the PDP candidate in the Kwara gubernatorial election, Honourable Razak Atunwa.
