Edo APC guber candidate promises massive investment in agric

Mr Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Edo Sept. 10 governorship election, has promised to make the state a “food basket ‘’, if elected Obaseki made the promised on Wednesday at Auchi at the flag off of the APC’s senatorial campaigns at the Ikelebe stadium, Auchi, Estako West Local Governent Area of the state.

He said that the economy of the state would grow through massive investment in agriculture and the mining sectors.

The candidate said he would revive the moribund Ogbemudia farms across the local government areas with massive attraction of investors to the state.

He said the revived agriculture sector would in turn bring about massive employments of youths in the state.

He assured the people that his administration would sustain and improve on the infrastructural development of Gov. Adams Oshiomhole.

Earlier, Oshiomhole told the crowd that the party’s governorship candidate was a tested and trusted person, whom they could trust with their votes.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor had earlier in the company of the Edo APC standard bearer and running mate, Mr Philip Shaibu, visited the Otaru of Auchi, Alhaji Haliru Momoh, Ikelebe 111.

At the palace, the governor said they paid the royal homage to introduce the party’s flag bearer and his running mate as well as to seek the monarch’s blessings.

Responding, the traditional ruler said that though he would follow the choice of the governor any time.

However, Momoh said he would continue to pray that Allah gives the state the best. (NAN)
