Edo Election: This change has come to stay, says Aregbeshola

Gov. Rauf Aregbesola of Osun has commended Edo people for supporting the APC led government despite the economic recession.

Aregbesola told newsmen on Thursday in Abuja when the news of Obaseki’s victory reached him adding that “I am happy my party has won in Edo. I thank the Edo people for not changing the change. This change has come to stay.”

The Osun state governor who was attending the ‘National Day of Solidarity with Cuba’ in Abuja urged Nigerians to keep the faith as the economic recession will soon be over.

“Please bear with us, it will soon be and the nation will come out in victory.”

Godwin Obaseki of APC was declared winner of the gubernatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with 319,483 votes while his closest rival, Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 253,173 votes.
