Edo “go and die” widow wants Police to pay her late husband’s entitlements

Mrs. Joy Ifijeh, the celebrity widow from Edo State who rose to fame after being told to “go and die” by an irate Governor Oshiomole who caught her violating State traffic, environmental and safety laws, has decided to use her popularity to reach out to the Nigerian Police Force in order to receive her dead husband’s entitlements.

The late Mr. Ifijeh, her husband, died in 2012 shortly after a police training course.

In a related development, the recipient of the latest grass to grace testimony declared that she had turned down the N250,000 offered her as succor by the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Mrs. Ifijeh said, “I did not receive any money from PDP. I am okay. They should use that money to help another widow. The PDP did not reach or invite me to the meeting. I will tell them thank you but will not collect it. I will tell them to give it to other widows.”

A news commentator and political analyst, Lekan Bakare, said the PDP should have upped the donation, seeing as the Edo governor offered her N2 million. “Perhaps if they had offered her N5 million, she would have decamped”, Bakare said heartily.
