A female professor with the Faculty of Science at the Federal University, Gusau, has advised men to marry educated women for a better life.
The female professor in Zamfara state, Prof. Bilkisu Shinkafi, advised men to marry women who are educated while speaking on Tuesday at a Town Hall meeting organised by an NGO, the Zamfara Circle.
The Dean of the Science Faculty at the Federal University, Gusau, pointed out that vices carried out in the state by youth were as a result of their mothers’ illiteracy.
She further stated that illiterate mothers lack some basic capacity to train their children.
Speaking further at the Town Hall meeting, the University don noted that marrying an educated woman would eliminate thuggery, illness, illiteracy, poverty and hunger from the society.
She added: “as such mothers will ensure that their children go to school to become better citizens of the society.”
The University don further noted that the issue of maternal, neo natal and infant mortality would be significantly lowered if men married more educated women.
