The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has arrested the immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Adesola Amosu.

Amosu was arrested Wednesday night at about 9pm and has since been detained by the anti-graft agency.

Air Mashal Adesola Amosu is one of the 21 former and serving officers who have been penciled for probe by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The EFCC commenced interrogation of 18 retired and serving top officials of the Armed Forces in relation to the ongoing probe into arms procured under the last Administration of President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari directed the EFCC to probe 18 top officers of the military comprising both retired and serving personnel on January 5, 2016 as part of the ongoing efforts to unravel the 2.1 billion arms scandal.

It was confirmed that Amosu visited the EFCC on Wednesday to honour his invitation and has been there since then.
