EFCC haul in Former Akwa-Ibom Military Administrator over N450m Scandal Involving Diezani

A former Military Administrator of Akwa Ibom State Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of receiving N450m from Madueke Diezani from the $115m disbursed during the last election.

Nkanga was arrested in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Monday.  Mr. Nkanga was alleged to have collected the money in two tranches from a staff of Fidelity Bank in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Saint- Anthony

Mr. Nkanga has been accused of receiving to installments of cash from a Fidelity bank staff according to Sahara Reporters. The first, a sum of N350m was collected on March 27, 2015, while a second installment of N100m was received on March 31, 2015.

It is alleged that Mr. Nkanga signed for the two installments.

Mr. Nkanga is currently in the custody of the EFCC.
