EFCC Recovers $1 mln cash in Ex Defence chief’s home

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has recovered the sum of $1 million from the former Chief of Defence Staff’s home in Abuja.

An EFCC source told Punch,  “We have seized several properties belonging to Badeh. A few days ago, we returned to the mansion located at 6, Ogun River Street, Maitama.

“In the presence of several witnesses, including neighbours, we searched the house and recovered $1m in cash. The money has been lodged as evidence.”

The home which was reportedly purchased with N1.1 billion by Badeh is one of several properties reportedly belonging to him which has been sealed off by the EFCC.

The total value of the properties linked to Badeh in Abuja is over N3 billion.
