EFCC Recovers Millions From Three New Politicians

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has in its heightened fight against corruption and corrupt government officials recovered huge sums from three persons of Political interest.

The three persons, a former Secretary to the Bauchi State government, Alhaji Ahmed Ibrahim Dandija; ex-chairman of the People’s Democratic Party in Gombe State, Nuhu Poloma and the zonal coordinator of the PDP in Gombe, Taraba and Adamawa states, Bunu Mulima, returned the sum of N10 million, N2 million and N5 million respectively.

According to news agency, Daily Trust, a top official of the anti-graft agency said the three persons deposited the money in bank drafts made out in the name of the agency.

The source said: “Dandija paid the said sum through a bank draft of FCMB; Poloma’s bank draft came from Zenith Bank while Mulima issued a Union Bank draft,”

According to the EFCC, Dandija had earlier confessed in his statement to distributing the sum of N20 million to some other beneficiaries. He however accepted to refund the whole sum.

The payment however is the first according to his promise, he is expected to issue out another bank draft to cover the remaining N10 million.
