Ekiti Guber: Fayemi’s Ex-Opponent Joins Him In Bid To Defeat PDP

Oluseyi Osekita, an opponent of former Ekiti governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi in the 2014 gubernatorial election, has joined forces with the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate ahead of the July 2018 gubernatorial election in the state.

Osekita, as the candidate of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), contested against Fayemi in the 2014 election, which Fayemi lost to incumbent Governor Ayodele Fayose.

However, Osekita has announced he has decamped, alongside his supporters in all 16 LGAs of the state, from AD to APC.

He said his aim was to help Fayemi “liberate” the people of the state, while lauding the ex-governor’s “legacy achievements” in his first term in office.

Osekita blamed his exit from AD on uninspiring leadership.

“Fayemi is the best for Ekiti ; he did well in the office and gave a free hand to his appointees.

“He was not a dictator and he executed legacy projects which are still there to speak for him.

“I’m leaving with all my supporters in the 16 local government areas to the APC to join in the struggle to liberate the people of the state.”
