A source within the party surmised that the move could be to block the ward members from shifting their allegiance to Senator Biodun Olujimi.

The former state chairman however said it was not an oath swearing ceremony but an affirmation of loyalty to Fayose who is their leader.

“There was nothing secret. It was an open meeting. It was not oath-taking because in the course of activities, there was no Bible, Quran, iron, blood or any other object to swear with,” he said.

Ayodele Fayose also reacted to the video through his media aide, Lere Olayinka.

There was no oath-taking anywhere. Did you see Fayose in that video? Did you see any object like Bible, Quran or iron? If no, how does that amount to oath-taking?”
