El Clasico: We Will Attack Barcelona – Benitez

2 Min Read

As millions of football fans all over the globe await Saturday’s El Clasico game, Real Madrid manager, Rafa Benitez has vowed to approach the game firing on all cylinders.

Benitez, whose three main forwards – Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema – are available after niggling injury worries and off-the-pitch situations, promised not to change his attack-based approach just because he is playing Barcelona.

“Evidently Barca change a lot depending on who they’re playing against. Real Madrid is a team that has to attack, that has to score goals and this is what we’re going to do,” Benitez said

According to him, Madrid will attack “no matter who the opponent is”.

Benitez also said the availability of Lionel Messi for Barcelona would have no effect on his approach to the game.

Lionel Messi has been on the sidelines since sustaining a knee injury against Las Palmas in September.

Asked if he believes Barcelona are favourites to win the game based on their current form, Benitez replied: We’re at home and in front of our fans so I expect us to win. We have to trust ourselves and of course it’s a tough game for us but we have to be confident.

“I will be going for three points.”
