The Centrum Initiative For Development and Fundamental Rights Initiative CEDRA, a Kaduna-based rights group, has issued a 48-hour ultimate to Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai to sack his Special Adviser on Investment Promotion, Jimmy Lawal or face mass protests.

The group alleged that the aide was a wanted man in the United States of America for a reason that it did not disclose.

Executive Chairman and Director of Strategy of CEDRA, Dr. John Danfulani, while addressing a press conference in the state on Thursday, said “We will formally petition the governor on the need to sack a wanted man in his government. When that fails, we will be force to embark on a mass protest.”

Danfulani stated that it was unbecoming of the governor to continue to keep Lawal in his cabinet as it would paint the All Progressives Congress in bad light.

He also berated the governor for marginalizing the people of Southern Kaduna in the appointment of commissioners and other aides in the state.

“This lopsidedness in appointments is brewing hatred and further polarising a very volatile state like Kaduna that is known for its ethno-religious skirmishes,” he stated
