Emmanuel Emenike has joined Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on a season-long loan from Fenerbahce.

The Nigeria international’s move to the UAE came after he signed a one-year contract extension with the Turkish club.

A close friend of the 28-year-old confirmed the development to AfricanFootball.com.

The Super Eagles striker had a disappointing campaign last season, scoring four goals in 21 league appearances.

He was linked with a move to several clubs including Spartak Moscow, Dynamo Moscow and Tottenham Hotspur as well as clubs in the UAE and Qatar.
