New Emir Begins Royal Duties After Succeeding Sanusi

Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the new emir of Kano who succeeded Muhammadu Sanusi, has reportedly begun his royal duties as the emir.

 

Bayero, who was announced as the new emir on Monday, March 9, 2020, is the 15th Fulani emir to mount the throne.

 

According to reports, the new emir visited his ancestral tomb at Gidan Nasarawa to offer prayers as part of his official duties as the Emir.

 

Shortly after his visit to the royal tomb, Bayero further visited his mother at her residence at Gandu Albasa quarters for blessings.

The traditional rites required to be performed for his ascension is said to commence on Wednesday.
