Lauretta Onochie, aide to President Buhari on Social media has claimed that #EndSARS movement is a coordinated attack by cyber-criminals to villify the security operatives.

Nigerians on Sunday launched a massive attack online to protest the illegal activities of operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on civilians.

Celebrities such as award-winning artistes Wizkid, Davido, Falz all lent their voices to the cause. The online protest was so massive #EndSARS, #EndSARSbrutality trended on Nigerian social space for over 15hours.

This led to the ban of FSARS from embarking on routine patrols, stop and search duties by Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

However, Lauretta Onochie believes #EndSARS movement is a coordinated attack by cybercriminals using innocent citizens as tools to wage war against security operatives.

In a thread of tweets, Buhari’s aide said,

“I have no doubt that there are some staff of SARS who are unprofessional in their dealings with d public, same way we have unprofessionalism in d Army, Mainstream Police, Customs, Civil Service, Public Service, traders, Lawyers, Doctors, journalists, teachers, pastors, etc.

“But what is going on now, is a COORDINATED ATTACK BY CYBER CRIMINALS joined by UNSUSPECTING INNOCENT CITIZENS.
