Lagos state government has lost over N234million over the closure of the state’s toll gates by #EndSARS protesters.
Nigerian youths have continued to block Lekki Toll gates to protest against police brutality and perceived bad governance in the country.
The protesters since October 9, blocked Lekki Toll gates and major roads in Lagos to express their grievances against the present government.
A Commissioner who spoke on the condition of anonymity to The Punch disclosed the blockade has reportedly cost LASG a whopping N234 million over the last 9 days.
According to him, daily target of the Admiralty Circle Plaza is set at 16.6million while the Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge is expected to generate at least N10million.

The funds are managed by the Lekki Concession Company (LCC) headed by Seyi Tinubu, son of former Lagos state Governor and APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Inspite of revenue setback caused by protesters, the state government has continued to generate funds through adverts displayed on the big screen at the tolls.
Speaking to Punch, the Commissioner said;
“At least 80,000 cars use the tollgates every day. The figure could be higher or lower depending on the day of the week. However, since the protests started, the Lekki tollgate has been completely shut, while the Ikoyi one has been left permanently open for people to use without payment”
When newsmen contacted Veronica Jacobs, LCC Spokesperson, she declined speaking on the issue.
Punch quoted her saying “We have no comment on the tollgates for now.”
Saloon cars are expected to pay N200, SUVs pay N250 at Admiralty Circle Plaza while mini vans and light trucks pay N400 at Lekki-Ikoyi link bridge.
However, N1000 is the flat rate for Heavy truck vans at the Admiralty Circle Plaza.
