Bauchi Governor’s Wife Donates Empowerment Equipment, Food Items to IDP Camp

The Wife of Bauchi State Governor, Dr Aisha Mohammed, has donated empowerment equipment and food items worth millions of naira to no fewer than 150 female Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in Rundubin Community of the state.

The  News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) reports that the gesture was carried out under the pet project of the governor’s wife – Almuhibba Foundation – on Tuesday.

According to Mohammed, the gesture is to reduce hardship caused by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

She said that women were targeted among the IDPs for encouragement in their economic activities for self-reliance.

“Almuhibba Foundation today is in Rudubin after receiving several information on the IDPs.

“Today, we brought food items and empowerment equipment such as grinding machines, pasta making machines, sewing machines and accessories, food containers and snacks.

“Women need to be empowered to support their families and also contribute to the development of their communities,” she said.

Receiving the donations on behalf of the beneficiaries, the Leader of IDPs in Rundubin, Mr Mohammed Jidda, thanked the Bauchi State Government and the governor’s wife for the gesture.

He said that the empowerment items were the first to IDPs in Rundubin.

“We are grateful to her excellency for the provision of food items and other materials,” he said.
