Don’t be in a hurry to obtain that visa to Eritrea.

A report published by several news organizations including The Herald NG stating that a proclamation by the government of Eritrea, ordered men to marry two wives or face life imprisonment has been found to be a hoax.

The hoax was started on social media earlier this week and gained traction leading to its publication by several news outlets, after it was erroneously believed to be a factual report.

Whilst the government of Eritrea has not come out to debunk the allegation as at press time, several independent investigations have found the report to be a hoax.

Tricksters have been relying on the power of social media to trend false reports. Only recently there was a false report on Republican presidential candidate int the US elections, Donald Trump, and some quotes ascribed to him, calling for the deportation of Nigerians from America and other malicious statements. That report was found to be a hoax also.
