Ex-Director of Kogi Civil Service Dies Two Days After Being Sacked

Mr. Alphonsus Ameh a director in the Kogi State civil service, 2 days after being sacked by the state government has passed away on Monday January 1st.

PUNCH correspondents learnt from a family member that the reason for his death is an alleged heart failure caused from high blood pressure.

Before his death Mr Ameh lived at Zone 8 area, opposite Science School, Lokoja, Kogi State.

Until his death Mr. Ameh was a Director Administration and Finance in the Kogi State Pensions Board.

Another anonymous family member stated that Ameh was among the directors and permanent secretaries that were suspended in February 2016.

“Ameh, who was a Grade Level 16 officer in the Kogi State Pension Board, was not paid any salary since his suspension about two years ago.

Mr Ameh died in the early hours of Monday of high blood pressure at the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.”
