Former Flying Eagles forward Moses Simon led Slovakian club AS Trenčín to a 2 – 0 away victory over Spartak Myjava in the Slovakian Fortuna Liga on Saturday.

The two sides went head to head showing strength and consistence as the game progressed in the first half.

The visitors, As Trencin, had the greater prowess, and Nigeria’s Moses Simon was striding on the edge of glory.  He neatly converted a right-wing pass beating Myjava’s goal-keeper in a power stiker at exactly 31 minutes into the game.

As Trencin held up the 1 – 0 lead with a determination to keep a clean sheet.

Myjava came back in the second half with zeal to level the scores, they almost got through to their visitor’s goal post in the 72nd minute with a fine shot but that valiant effort soared over the bar.

In the 78th minute Matus Opatovsky beat a porous defense to find the back of their host’s net yet again, sealing the victory for his side.

The 3 points earned lifted Trencin to the first position on the  Fortuna Liga table.

Moses Simon has now bagged 13 goals from 25 games since he joined As Trencin from Ajax in January 2014.
