Ex-Kano gov Shekarau quits APC, joins NNPP

Senator for Kano Central, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau (pictured right) has quit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the new New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Former Director General of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu Support Group (TSG), AbdulMumin Jibrin announced this in a tweet on Wednesday morning.

“BREAKING- Sen Ibrahim Shekarau joins NNPP. Details later,” Jibrin’s tweet read.

He followed up with a photo of NNPP National Leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s visit to Shekarau’s home.

Shekarau, 66, is a former two-term Governor of Kano and Minister of Education.
