Former minister of National Planning, Professor Suleiman Abubakar has queried the source of funds the All Progressives Congress (APC) used in prosecuting the 2015 presidential election.

Abubakar alleged that President Muhammadu received looted funds from state governments in Lagos, Kano, Rivers and other states to pursue the APC campaign.

Speaking in an interview with The Sun newspaper, Abubakar also frowned at the disrespect the Buhari government has for the judicial arm of government.

Speaking on the ongoing trial of Senate president, Bukola Saraki, Abubakar stated that the trial is a mere persecution.

He said: “If Saraki had agreed not to become the Senate President, would they have done this to him? If he had agreed to key in the principal officers they wanted, would they have done this to him?

“You do not do this kind of political persecution and you want people to respect such a programme? It will not last.”
