Executions: Nigeria Begs Indonesian Government for Leniency

The Indonesian government had executed 3 Nigerians and one Indonesian man over drug trafficking charges despite appeals from all quarters for leniency.

Now 3 Nigerians remain and the Federal Government have sprung into action begging Indonesia for leniency in their matter and asked for the Indonesian government to commute the sentence of the 3 men.

The Federal Government made a statement yesterday begging the Indonesian government for mercy saying, “ though three of them have since been executed, we are still pleading on behalf of the remaining three.”

14 people were put on the list and with the 4 already executed, 10 still remain. All executions were to take place on Friday but a “comprehensive review” of the cases was decided so as to “avoid any mistake” in the 10 cases. Attorney General H. Muhammad Prasetyo said.
