The Niger State Police Command has released the names of sixteen sexual offenders who have had unlawful carnal knowledge with minors in the state.
A certain Victor John was the first offender to get arrested for sexual crime with a 13-year-old girl in Kontagora part of Niger state.
However further investigations of the case led to the arrest of 15 other culprits who allegedly abused two other minors in the same town.
According to DSP Muhammmadu Abubakar who spoke to newsmen in Minna,he disclosed that Victor John lured his victim, a 13-year-old egg hawker into the room where he sexually abused her. The room was in a bakery house.
On the arrest of 15 other suspects, DSP Abubakar said that the suspects were known for sexually abusing minors, preying on easy targets especially children hawkers between 12-13.
The Police have handed the victims to the Child Rights Agency for counselling.
Here is a list of the 16 suspects who have confessed to sexually abusing minors
- Usman Abdullahi, 30 years old.
- Usman Magaji, 29 years old
- Bello Sardauna, 49 years old
- Auwal Ibrahim, 35 years old
- Danladi Auwal, 30 years old
- Usman Abdullahi, 27 years old
- Tukur Abubakar, 25 years old
- Zaiyanu Buhari , 22 years old
- Ibrahim Taila, 37 years old
- Buhari Abubakar , 35 years old
- Samaila Yusuf, 25 years old
- Bello Umar, 35 years old
- Hassam Umar, 30 years,
- Yusuf Abdullahi, 25 years,
- Abubakar Aliyu, 45 years

The criminals are all from Chadan Daji Arra, Kontagora Local Government Area.
