A hooded man the Nigerian Army initially tagged a “fake soldier” has been apprehended for backing ongoing EndSARS protests.

In a Tuesday morning tweet, the Army confirmed him as a serving soldier identified as Lance Corporal Harrison Friday.

The soldier had said in a video that circulated online that military personnel were backing the protests.

He urged the protesters to persist in their demands and urged soldiers not to act foolishly.

“My advice goes to every fellow soldier. You guys should not be fooled; don’t be used.

“We are the youths, the fight these civilians are fighting is our fight. Don’t let them use us,” Friday said.

In the tweet, the Army said, “The hooded soldier hiding behind the mask to commit cybercrimes has been apprehended in the ongoing cyber operations in support of Crocodile Smile VI.

“Be rest assured cyber criminals have no hiding place.”
