As former Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Joy Nunieh, vows to make more revelations about the rot in the commission, former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says any attempt to silence her will fail.

Nunieh’s Port Harcourt residence was this morning invaded by security personnel that allegedly broke down her backdoor in a bid to whisk her away to an unknown destination.

Videos that circulated on social media showed that it took the intervention of Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to rescue her from the security agents, who allegedly invaded the residence without a warrant and the state police commissioner’s knowledge.

Talking to the media after the governor escorted her to the safety of the Government House, Nunieh vowed to open more can of worms about alleged grand corruption at the intervention agency and the part played by Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio.

In a series of tweets in reaction to the incident, Fani-Kayode said the embattled ex-NDDC boss is a tough lady who would never bow to intimidation.

He recounted an incident in which Nunieh was involved in an auto crash and did not get help for two hours but survived.

Fani-Kayode wrote, “A few years ago a car filled with people plunged into a deep river after a terrible accident. Everyone in that vehicle perished except one. After 2 hours of struggling for her life in that river the person finally floated to the bank barely alive. That person was Joy Nunieh, the lady that someone now wants to kill.

“There are some people you just don’t mess with because the hand of God is upon them. Joy is one of them. God is with her & fighting her will lead to your destruction. The Bible says “touch not my annointed and do my Prophets no harm”.”
