Father arrested for anally assaulting 1-year-old Son to death -

A man has been arrested in Kenya for allegedly sodomizing his 1-year-old son to death.

Muchiri Derick, a 25-year-old man, who is from Maara Sub-County has been arrested by Kenyan Police for performing anal sex on his 1-year-old son, which resulted in the child’s death.

For those who may not know what sodomy is, it refers generally to anal or oral sex between people or sexual activity between a person and a non-human animal.

According to Vanguard, the Tharaka-Nithi Commissioner Ms Opwora Beverly on Wednesday confirmed the boy’s death on arrival at Mutunguni hospital where his parents rushed him on Monday morning.

Upon examination of the 1-year-old boy, it was discovered that his anal region was covered with injuries. The hospital then informed police after observing serious injuries on the boy’s anus and during interrogation, the police officers discovered that the father might have sodomized his son,’ Ms Mpwora said.

The 1-year-old’s father is well known for using drugs and sometimes served as a confidential informant for the Kenyan Police when it came to investigations. The 1-year-old’s father would be charged to court as soon as possible, once investigation is complete.

The Commissioner also noted that such cases of rape, defilement and some other child abuse related cases have been on the rise in their County.

And what made cases like this more sad is the fact that majority of crimes that fall in this category are mostly committed by members of the family and custodians who are in charge of taking care of these children.
