The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose on Saturday in Ado-Ekiti was involved in an altercation with Muslim cleric and preacher, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello.

The Altercation was initiated during the prayer when the preacher offered unsolicited advice to the Governor as concerning his utterances especially as he is the number one citizen of the state.

The cleric during the prayer session and award ceremony organised by the Southwest branch of the Ansar-ud-Deen Muslim Society of Nigeria added that the governor needed to show more decorum in his public utterances.

The advice however did not sit well the the Governor of the State as he replied the Muslim cleric with insults, hurling abusive words at the preacher for offering unsolicited advice and caution.

According to those present at the event, the preacher made to reply the insults but was restrained by Elders present and his microphone disabled.

The altercation further developed into a full fledged scenario when the Elders present offered that the Governor leaves the venue since he had performed his role. The governor was reported to have bluntly refused the offer which led to a three-hour disruption of the programme.

The Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on New Media, Mr. Lere Olayinka when contacted maintained that the cleric deserved the insult dished to him by the state Governor.
