FCT Police Launch Probe Into Death of Young Woman Found Tied in Gwarinpa Hotel Room

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of a young woman, whose lifeless body was discovered with her hands tied in a hotel room in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.
A disturbing video showing the scene has gone viral on social media, prompting public outrage and concern. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the deceased has been identified as Aladi Offikwu Johnson, a native of Benue State.
Adeh stated that the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ajao S. Adewale, has ordered a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Preliminary findings revealed that the victim had checked into a hotel located on 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, accompanied by an unidentified man. However, the man reportedly left the premises without the woman. Her body was later discovered by a hotel staff member during routine service rounds, who immediately alerted the police.
“The Commissioner of Police urges members of the public to remain calm and allow the police to carry out a comprehensive inquiry,” Adeh stated.
The tragic death adds to a growing list of similar incidents in the nation’s capital, where women have been found dead under suspicious circumstances in hotels. In many of these cases, suspects—often believed to be ritual killers—have managed to evade arrest.
The police have assured the public that efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrator and ensure justice for the victim.
