The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has blasted Federal High Court Judge, Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, for faking her admission into a hospital following the invitation for interrogation.

The Justice had earlier on in the morning of Wednesday informed the EFCC of her ill health and admission in a hospital a ikoyi.

Five other judges, Mohammed Nasir Yunusa, Hyeladzira Ajiya Nganjiwa, Appellate Court Judge, Uwani Abba-Aji, Justice Agbadu James Fishim and Musa Haruna Kurya had in the past two days responded to EFCC invitations.

Some of the judges were accompanied by their lawyers and were reported to be cooperating with EFCC operatives investigating alleged corruption in Nigeria’s judicial system.

Ofili, claimed she was at the Intensive Care Unit of Golden Cross Hospital on Bourdillon Road.

The EFCC agents paid a short surprise visit to the hospital and from the records, discovered she had not been there since October 13, 2016.

A medical staff of the company was trying to prove the judge’s presence by inserting her name in the file as their patient.

After several failed attempts by the EFCC to locate her in the hospital, a call was placed to her in order to confirm her location which she still claimed was in the said hospital.

EFCC officials told Sahara Reporters that the medical director of the hospital has been invited to the commission’s office in Ikoyi to explain his role in the scandal.
