Female Corper’s Attackers’ Arrested In Yenagoa

Vigilante youth in the Obunagha community of Yenagoa have arrested two young men implicated in the attack of a female youth corps member serving in Bayelsa.

Miss Folakemi Akinbode was robbed of her valuables by the young men and during the armed robbery her right hand was chopped off for her resistance.

The two young men identified as bi Jatto and Weriye Aluwa, were apprehended in the community after attempts to sell the corper’s phone on the black market.

Miss Akinbode is a graduate Nurse of Madonna University. She was reportedly in charge of huge sums of money used by the hospital to pay blood donors at the blood bank section of the hospital.

The apprehended suspects, according to a security source, were present during the payment made to the blood donors by the corps member.

According to a security source, “they claimed that all they wanted from her was the remaining money she kept in her bag after the payments in the afternoon. But that when she struggled and identified one of them, she was attacked with machete.”
