FIFA U17: Golden Eaglets Battle Ecuador for Round of 16 Ticket

The Nigerian Golden Eaglets are the record winners of the FIFA under 17 World Cup and can take a huge step towards a record seventh title if they can defeat Ecuador today in the ongoing tournament in Brazil.

Golden Eaglet’s Captain Samson Tijani scored twice to condemn a hard fighting Hungarian team to a 4-2 in their Group B opening encounter. Nigeria twice came from behind to draw level in the match later adding two goals in the final minutes of for a well-deserved victory.

The Golden Eaglets will be looking for a win today to confirm and early qualification into the next round reducing the pressure of seeking qualification in the last match.

All eyes will be on highly rated Tijani to inspire his team to victory again in another potentially difficult match as the Ecuadorians also enjoyed a comfortable start to the competition, edging out hard fighting Australia 2-1.

The game will be played at the famous Estadio Olimpico Pedro Ludovico with a Kick-Off time of 9 pm Nigerian time.
