The Finance Minister has defied protesting workers of the Ministry of Finance as she stormed the Ministry’s office complex today.

Recall that the workers of the Finance Ministry embarked upon the two-day-old mass action to protest the non-payment of their allowances which is estimated to be about N1.2 billion.

The Finance Minster arrived in company of her convoy amidst heavy security at about 8:00 am.

Prior to her arrival, indications of her resumption of office after avoiding the complex and protesters for two days had been given by the presence of armed security personnel running to over 70 in number.

Protesters however upon sighting the Minister’s convoy attempted to bar her entry into the office complex as they increased tempo of their earlier chants of “Adeosun must go, she must go,” “We want change, give us change,” among others.

Upon failed attempt to bar the Minister’s entry into the ministry, angry protesters vowed to prevent the Minster from accessing and attending the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting which holds today.
