Following constant criticisms over her National Youth Service Corps trouble, Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, has reportedly resigned from her post.

According to the Daily Trust, it is unclear when she resigned. It is also unclear when the resignation will take effect as she was still working as at the time of this report.

It was opined that Adeosun was worried about what such a scandal could do to President Buhari who appointed her and how the problem could hurt his reelection campaign.

The Finance minister was appointed in 2015 by President Buhari in the hopes that she could help boost an ailing economy.

She was also elected chairman of the board of Afreximbank

She came under fire after it was reported that she had failed to obtain a certificate of exemption from NYSC which would have allowed her to not partake in the program and still work without repercussions.

Things took a turn for the absurd after a photo of the finance minister in her NYSC khakis surfaced on the internet, however, it was quickly pointed out that this was a poor photoshopped picture and she took further flak for that.

Adeosun earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of East London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Financial Management from the University of London.
