Two children have reportedly been killed as a result of a fire outbreak which occurred at an IDP camp located in Jere Local government area of Borno state.

Reports indicate that the IDP camp which serves as a home for over 500 families was razed yesterday afternoon.

The fire was however reported to have spread fast owing to the nature of the temporary tents which were constructed using dried stalks.

The two children who died as a result of the fire outbreak were said to have been embedded deep into one of the hurts and had died before help reached them.

The fire outbreak was reported to have stemmed from a wild wind which blew embers from a fire made for roasting groundnut.
