A policeman, two civilians and two female suicide bombers were killed in a Boko Haram attack on the town of Mora in Northern Cameroon.
The attack which occurred in the Galdi neighbourhood near the town’s entrance on Sunday was confirmed to Reuters news agency by a military officer who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak to the press.
The officer said that the attack occurred near a stadium where the police officer affected was trying to carry out a routine check.
An 8,700-strong regional force to tackle the dreaded Boko Haram insurgency is underway and Cameroon is a major contributor.
The Boko Haram insurgency since its onset in 2009 has claimed tens of thousands of lives and rendered millions more homeless in Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
