The Niger Gov. Abubakar Bello, has approved the release of N30 million to the state Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) to get relief materials for victims of the Suleja flood.

According to a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Malam Jibrin Ndace, in Minna on Sunday, the approval was given when  the governor visited some flooded areas in Suleja and Lapai Local Government Areas of the state.

Recall that about 11 persons died with many homes damaged after a downpour on July 8 in Suleja.

“It is glaring that most of the affected structures were on the natural flood path,” the statement quoted the governor to have said.

“We have to desist from these unwholesome practices and obey simple laws meant for our good.”
