“For the 1st time we’ll have 2 leaders born after Independence” – Doyin Okupe hails Baba-Ahmed’s unveiling

Former vice-presidential candidate of Labour Party, Dr. Doyin Okupe has celebrated the emergence of Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed as the substantive running mate to Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election.

The Herald earlier reported that Baba-Ahmed was unveiled during a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

Recall that Okupe, who is the Director-General of the Peter Obi Campaign Organisation, on Thursday announced the withdrawal of his nomination as the Labour Party’s VP candidate.

Reacting to Baba-Ahmed’s unveiling in a tweet, the doctor-turned-politician thank God for bringing Obi and the new VP candidate together.

He added that it was the first time that Nigeria would have a presidential and vice presidential candidate that were born after the nation’s independence in 1960.

He said it was a good signal that 2023 would be for Nigerian youths.

“I thank God today. For my eyes have seen what my mind conceived.2 young,brilliant,descent Nigerians wt unquestionable integrity,& proven ability aspiring for the Leadership of d country.For the 1st time we will hv 2 leaders,both born after Independece. This is d season 4 d Youths,” Okupe wrote.
