A former minister of environment in the last administration, Laurencia Laraba Mallam was kidnapped by Armed men yesterday.
The former minister was kidnapped while on her way to Kaduna from Abuja. She was in the company of her 73-year-old husband.
The incident happened at about 7:00pm yesterday in Jere, Kagarko local government area of Kaduna state.
The hoodlums are said to have demanded a ransom of N20m for the release of the former minister.
Mallam served under President Goodluck Jonathan.
This is the second kidnapping of a high profile woman in the last week with the wife of the CBN governor the victim of kidnap only a week ago.
She was rescued in a timely manner and Governor Emefiele had said he would not be intimidated by anybody.
